Title: Greek Companies’ Environmental, Social and Governance Performance and Customer Choice

Abstract

The aim of the present paper is to study whether customer choice is affected by the company’s performanceon ESG indicators in Greece. A questionnaire survey was carried out and relevant analysis was performed.The results indicated that customer choice is indeed affected by a company’s performance on Environmental,Social and Governance indicators. It was also evidenced that a company’s performance in Social Indicators isequally important for customers living both in urban and rural areas, whereas its performance on Governance Indicators is of prior importance for customers living in urban areas, while its performance on EnvironmentalIndicators is most important for customers living in rural areas.
