Abstract

Covid-19 pandemic shaken the world and brought situations unknown. Financial and social system were negative affected. Tourism was affected more in comparison to other economic activities because of his nature which is based on people’s visits from one place to another and their individual frame of mind.

At the present thesis through the literature review is ascertained that as tourism destinations, cities faced up bigger decline and slower recovery compared to rural tourism. From the secondary research comes up that city of Athens has faced up too a big decline. But three years after almost full recovery has obtained. The city’s cultural attractions, the climate and the positive for the city perception are the main reasons for visiting Athens. The marketing for the city’s projection by the official tourism’s organizations contributed to the increasement of visits.
