Title: Socio-economic evaluation of public policies in the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

In the current two-pronged COVID-19 crisis, issues of choice between alternative public policies are raised in order to optimize and exit it. In the current situation, uncertainty is much greater and traditional policy tools and financial instruments cannot guarantee a high degree of control of it by governments. The fact that the crisis is at least interdisciplinary, involving both economists and health scientists, in order to study the effects of each option and to support the political decision-making process contributes to this.

In this analysis, we will compare the different choices made at global level, taking into account the fundamental theories of socio-economic evaluation of public policies.
