Title: Exploring the effect of corporate governance on firm’s financial performance. The case of listed firms in the Athens Stock Exchange
Abstract
The corporate governance has been identified as a crucial factor of firm’s success. According to the Greek loyal framework, the listed firms in the Athens Stock Exchange are obliged to report details for their corporate governance. In this paper we explore the relationship between firms value and profitability with their corporate governance performance. We focused in the period of crisis, and especially before and during the capital control period. More specifically, we examined Greek listed firms since they report their corporate governance profile. Our findings are compared with those of prior research studies.
