Title: Dealing with Employee satisfaction in the Banking Sector. The case study of Piraeus after merger with ATE Bank

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is twofold: (a) to measure job satisfaction and specify the key factors, that affect on (b) to analyze the special case of the merger of a private bank Piraeus Bank, with a public bank, ATE Bank. Problem statement: The last decade, the Greek banking industry has been dramatically affected by the economic crisis, driving to a reforming Bank scheme, deemed necessary to almost unpredictable economic conditions. The most significant changes in the banking sector were mergers between private banking companies, domestic and foreign. Under new merger status between Piraeus and ATE Bank (including six years) carrying out the survey on the new Human Resource Management practices. Results: Findings suggest the new workplace settings do not establish a supporting, encouraging and trusting relationship scheme between managers and employees. Conclusion: Good employees won't stay at a dissatisfactory job unless they feel like they lack options. The new Banking employee face suffers from less employees’ willing commitment.
