OBJECTIVE: The scope of this paper is to redefine strategic planning as a necessary function and tool for the sustainability and efficiency of the NHS in the spiral of the economic crisis.
METHODS: Numerous bibliographic references were sought in international scientific journals and also in Greek on strategic development in health.
RESULTS: Our research analyzed the internal and external environment of public health services. In the second stage, it is attempted to analyze advantages, disadvantages, threats and opportunities through Swot Analysis.
