Title: The contribution of tax administration employees to training programs in enhancing the efficiency of the human resources of the tax services of Greece

Abstract

Nowadays changes and developments in the economy and technology are very rapid. Knowledge and skills in the services sector are constantly changing, shaping the knowledge society and highlighting the issue of lifelong learning. Employees in Tax Services show the need to acquire new knowledge and skills and update existing ones in conjunction with the desire of the Tax Administration to upgrade their role and improve the services they provide to citizens.

In order to achieve a more efficient operation of the Tax Administration, continuous training of the human resources is required. Training is a process that is imposed in today's age because of the professional changes and the need for a constant renewal of human knowledge.

The training of taxpayers is now recognized internationally as an integral part of their professional development and is aimed at both their personal and professional development and their scientific support. Therefore, Tax Administration with trained staff, leads to full efficiency, and when it is based on specific procedures, its efficiency increases.
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the main reasons that create the need for Tax Administration officials to participate in training programs and the difficulties they encounter.
