This paper aims at investigating the interrelation between economic development and tourism growth, by making use of a linear regression model as for Italy, endowed with a very long tradition of tourism law, in period 1996-2016. Ordinary least squares method is used in order to examine both the direct and indirect relationships between the examined variables of the model.
