Title: Undeclared work: Can it be confronted with the application of social marketing practices?

Abstract

This paper is engaged with the understanding of the phenomenon of undeclared or concealed, from taxation and social insurance authorities, work that is observed in the primary sector in Greek. It is explored whether social marketing, namely the use of the principles and techniques of commercial marketing for the increase of the well-being of both the individual and society as a whole, can contribute towards the deterrence of the phenomenon of concealed labor in farming activities. From the quantitative survey it ensued that the phenomenon of undeclared labor exists in the primary sector in Greece and that social marketing can contribute towards its deterrence, without, however, being the most important factor to this end.
