Title: A theoretical framework for studying Human Resource Management fit with environmental antecedents and company performance

Abstract

Globalization and intense competition force organisations to be flexible and adoptable to the constant changes of the market. The selection of the proper business strategy is crucial so as all the departments of the company to operate effectively. This aim to be achieved, is important for an organisation to has a strong and suitable corporate culture.

Corporate culture includes the values, norms, vision, symbols, beliefs and behaviors that contribute to the unique environment of the organisation. It is an important topic, it plays a meaningful role in corporations and affects employees and organizational operations.

The aim of this paper is to present an appropriate theoretical model in order to examine whether the fit between human resource management practices and several environmental forces, such as socio cultural and market factors influence  firm performance.
