Title: What’s the role of Emotional Intelligence and Job Burnout on Employee’s Job Performance?
Abstract
Background Objectives: While Greece’s economy still in recession, the public health system is under pressure. The cuts in salaries and the medicine expenditure, the lack of personnel and the increase in emergency incidents due to rise in unemployment and poverty levels, have burden negatively the healthcare working conditions and employees’ performance, and Burnout syndrome is on the rise. To cope with this phenomenon, employees should be able to manage their own and others’ feelings, and regulate them to the attainment of work tasks. In other words, Emotional Intelligence is a critical factor to increase the levels of Job Performance, and decrease the level of Job Burnout.
Methods/Statistical Analysis: This research uses data from a target population of healthcare employees (doctors, nurses) in Hospitals in Greece, using questionnaires to determine their level of emotional intelligence and job burnout, and job performance. Multiple regression analysis used to test the relationships between the variables.

What’s more, Emotional Intelligence (negatively) significantly affects employees’Job Burnout level. Education seems to affect significantly Emotional Intelligence.
