Title: The effects of Basel Accords on the banking sector

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present the Basel regulatory rules, as elaborated by the Basel Committee. It contains an analysis of the supervisory framework governing the financial system.
Here is a summary of the financial system. Next, the importance of the banking sector, its risks and the need to create a banking union are analyzed.
The analysis of the Basel Committee and the content of the Basel I and Basel II frameworks is being carried out.
Finally, the Basel III framework is analyzed. Reference is made to the financial crisis and how it is related to the emergence of Basel III.
