Title: The contribution of E-Government to Public Revenue Collection
Abstract
The main purpose of the paper is to investigate the contribution of e-Government to the more effective public revenue collection.
The paper is based on primary and secondary research. The secondary research was carried out in order to approach the main theoretical concepts of the under consideration matters. The primary research was conducted via a structured questionnaire of twenty-four Likert scale questions. It was used random sample of revenue officers in Attica. We used the statistical package S.P.S.S. for the processing and analysis of the data.
As a result of the investigation, it was found both positive contribution of e-Government to the public revenue collection and deficits in its implementation, highlighted the need to expand the use of e-Government by the tax administration. Finally we try to present future opportunities and proposals to enhance the public revenue collection through the use of electronic applications.
