Title: Analysis of the deviation from the precipitation sine curve and use it as indicator of climate change

Abstract

The investigation of the precipitation trend shows a sine type variation within each year. The aim of this work is the construction for each year of the best sine curve for the precipitation recorded in the weather station of Tatoi on the Athens area over a period of more than 50 years, and the calculation using appropriate statistical methods of the deviation of real data from the best sine curve. The temporal variation of this deviation is analyzed. At the end it is investigated whether this deviation can be used as an indicator of climate change.
