Title: For a new methodology for the relation between CO2 emissions and GDP per capita, based on economic inequality

Abstract

The scientific literature has many works investigating the relationship between CO₂ emissions and per capita income. In these works, the average per capita income is taken into consideration, which does not take into account the economic inequality that exists within each country. Scope of work is the proposal of a new methodology that takes into account the real income of each resident, in order to investigate the income / CO₂ emissions relationship. The overall methodology is applied to 15 countries of EU15 for a period of several years, from 1990 until today. In each resident of the 15 countries. a volume of CO₂ emissions is assigned according to its real income and then the relationship of CO₂ emissions of all residents regardless of their country is examined.
