Title: The Coexistence of Different Generations in the modern Workplace. An innovative approach for the challenges and the difficulties via the Conjoint Analysis Method.
Abstract
The present study investigates the challenges as well as the difficulties deriving from the coexistence of generations in the modern workplace. New forms of communication, networking techniques, cultural issues, organizational structure as well as ethical considerations are some of the issues that arise in the workplace as a result of the coexistence of the different generations. We ask employees of different ages to evaluate the challenges as well as the difficulties of this coexistence, to prioritize issues concerning the smooth collaboration among different generations but also to present issues that companies must take strategically into consideration so as to achieve great goals with the integration of the different generations. The use of the Conjoint Analysis and the scenario technique allow us to investigate and to fully understand the significance of different characteristics or factors that influence generations’ coexistence in the workplace. The Conjoint Analysis compared to the traditional methods of multidimensional analysis can also give results in an individual level. This can help us to create interesting metrics for individuals as well as it is a useful segmentation tool for strategic design.
