Title: The Effect of Implementing GDPR based on EFQM model, in business strategy: A Comparative Case Studies' Analysis in Greece
Abstract
The present study explores the European roadmap-necessity for the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the practical implications of its application in corporate strategy in the light of Corporate Governance.
Through references to Strategy, Human Rights and Personal Data, but also through the way they are dealt with in the strongest economic states on the planet, an initial approach is attempted to the basic issues-challenges that modern businesses are faced with.
The research presents three case studies -Greek- business leaders, and outlines the specifics of applying the Regulation and the conclusions regarding their size differences, the business sector they are operating in, the geographical spread of entrepreneurship, the administrative philosophy, the educational level and the multitude of employees, based on the European Business Excellence Model (EFQM), as well.
This groundbreaking research highlights the need for an academic study of the consequences of applying the Regulation to business strategy, paving the way for the creation of a new field of applied regulatory compliance. At the same time, it is a useful practical guide for strategically dealing with upcoming regulations.
