Title: Social acceptance of the privatization of infrastructure in Greece
Abstract
The present research approaches the issue of privatization of infrastructures, from a bibliographic as well as from a research point of view. More specifically, the present work examines and records the ways of infrastructure management and of the transition from the public to the private sector, analyzing the objectives and the forms of privatizations. Further there is an effort to catalogue the privatizations that have been carried out on a national and on an international level in various sectors of infrastructures, establishing at the same time if they had been successful and to what extent. Finally, through the statistical research in a population of five hundred citizens in the prefecture of Attica, the present work portrays the convictions and perceptions of society concerning the privatization of infrastructures. Using the appropriate statistical analysis it is revealed that majority of Greek citizens are against privatization of infrastructure and trusts more the public body than private enterprises.
