Title: The role of leverage to profitability at a time of economic crisis

Abstract

This article examines the intangible assets, total assets, equity, sales and net profits of Société Anonyme (S.A.) corporations listed on the Athens Stock Exchange throughout the period 2008-2015.

The authors are attempting to compare the leverage and the effectiveness of these corporations to their profitability at a time of economic crisis.

Statistical analysis was performed and the results indicate that there is correlation between the parameters that were examined.
