Venture capital and entrepreneurship in Greece
by Chrysavgi Mitsi | Augustinos Dimitras
Abstract ID: 78
Event: Conference 2024
Keywords (up to 5): decision-making, entrepreneurship, investment, start-ups, venture capital

Using a dataset of Greek start-ups that sought venture capital from investors in Greece, we provide evidence that high-tech start-ups that are younger, larger, financed before, and have more liquid assets are more likely to get financed by VCs. Our results confirm the usefulness of financial and non-financial statement information for VCs’ evaluation processes and add significantly to the entrepreneurial finance literature.
